At Argo, we make most of our decisions based on what does “the greatest amount of good for the greatest number of people”. So, what may seem like a ridiculous policy has, in fact, been given a lot thought.

Not many people have asked the reasoning behind some of our decisions, but just in case, here are the answers to some questions (and the logic behind a lot of them).

Reservations

Do you accept reservations?

No. We do not accept reservations. We can’t predict how long people will stay at any given table. For this reason, we don’t want to promise something that we’re not sure we can commit to.

Can I reserve a room for a party?

Yes. Both rooms upstairs are available for rent. We have consulted up and down the street about pricing, so in line with the rest of the greater family, there are two time slots for each room (5pm-10pm or 10pm-3am) with a $500 sales guarantee for each room.

How long will the wait for a table be?
We can only guess. The larger the party, the longer the wait. Usually. We’re typically busy in the winter and spring than in the summer and fall…

Can I call in and put my name on the waiting list?

No. You must physically come in to put your name on the list.

Food/Hours

Are you open for brunch?

Yes, we are open for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-3pm.

Do you have Bottomless Mimosas?

Yes, we have $9 Bottomless Mimosas on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-3pm.

Be responsible, guys. Our mimosas can pack a punch (we use very little orange juice) and if you vomit from over-drinking (during brunch, or any other time!), you will be cleaning it up yourselves.

Also, we want you to enjoy yourselves while you’re with us, but please be mindful that other people may be waiting for your table. If you have been sitting at a table for longer than say, two hours, and aren’t ordering any additional food, we may ask you to enjoy your mimosas at the bar or game area in order to accommodate our waiting list.

Are you open for lunch?

Yes. Wednesday – Friday we are open at 11:30 for lunch.

When does the kitchen close?

11pm on Sunday-Thursday. 12am Friday and Saturday.

Do you do “take-out”?

Yes, we have a take-out menu that is available Sunday night through Thursday night. In order to better serve patrons (and not increase ticket times during extremely busy periods) we don’t allow take-out orders to be called in by phone from Friday at 5pm to Sunday at 5pm. If you are already here, you are welcome to order food “to go” through a bartender.

I have a severe allergy. Can you accommodate me?

In general, no.

Our kitchen processes nuts and shellfish (as well as other common allergens including, but not limited to: dairy, eggs, other seafood, etc.). We do not want to be responsible for your anaphylactic shock or other severe reaction, so please bring in outside food if you have a concern.

I follow a Vegetarian/Vegan/Gluten-Free/GFCF/etc. diet. Do you have foods that I can eat?

Yes and no. Here are some examples of why/why not (for most commercial kitchens).

Vegetarian/Vegan: Our kitchen processes a lot of animal products.

Gluten-Free: We use pre-shredded cheese in a lot of recipes. Often, shredded cheese comes with an anti-caking agent added which sometimes makes the product not truly Gluten-free anymore.

If your allergy is severe or your beliefs are strict we have no problem with you bringing in outside food.

Why did you take “X Product” off the menu?

Several reasons. First, we track our sales pretty thoroughly. If something isn’t selling, we take it off the menu. Usually, it’s seasonal.

Second, we are trying to be conscious of our costs and local-sourcing. In line with that, we try to cross-utilize ingredients as much as we can. Sometimes, we’ll have a dish where we have to bring in one (or more!) specific ingredients JUST for that item.

Third, if we can’t guarantee that a product will be consistent every time, we don’t want to take the risk.

Space

Can I bring my stroller inside or on the patio?

No. We have a bike lock outside and you’re welcome to lock your stroller up there. As you can imagine, we simply do not have the space to accommodate that many strollers.

Why can’t you accommodate my large group? Why do you recommend smaller parties?

Why can’t I move tables together downstairs?

First, many of our tables are screwed to the floor to prevent them from toppling. Second, because we can get very full, we need to make sure we have paths to and from the bar area clear for all staff (the host, servers, bartenders, bussers and food runners).

Why can’t I move tables together on the patio?

In an effort to keep track of all our chairs AND make sure things are fair (and safe!) for all our servers, we do not allow tables to be combined outside. Large parties have a tendency to grow (and/or take chairs from other tables) leaving one section empty (or, full of tables without chairs). Because our patio is public space (and we rent it from the city) we are limited to a certain number of chairs on the patio. If we increase the number of chairs, we will be fined $1000.

We apologize for any inconvenience and we hope you understand our layout and permitting constraints.

ETC.

Can I bring my dog on the patio?

Yes, but only on Saturdays from 12pm-5pm. Service animals exempted, obviously. Please see the official rules and regulations on the “Deals & Promotions” section.
