What to do with an abundance of basil (and you’ve had all the pesto or caprese-themed recipes you can take)?!
The Gin Basil Smash, of course!
Ingredients
2 oz gin
1 oz fresh lemon juice
1 oz simple syrup
8-12 fresh basil leaves
ice
Place gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and basil leaves in glass. Fill with ice. Shake (a really, really, really, really long time) to break down basil leaves and infuse basil flavor and color.
Strain into ice-filled glass.
Serve with a straw and basil leaf.
